First Day of Fall

Wow...what a weekend! Alison and I went to the Shellfish Festival. Lots of great music and food. I LOVE seafood chowder! And the lobster rolls were huge! I couldn't even finish mine. The weather was sunny but REALLY chilly - great chance to wear the big fluffy sweater Aunt Pearl gave me last Christmas. I love fall - and since today's the first official day of autumn and the sun's still with us, I have to admit I'm in a cheery mood. Even though Phil was a real pain at work this morning. Oh well, even he can't get to me on the first sunny day of fall!

I Just Bought The Cutest Boots In The World!

Well, this is my first blog entry. I've never done anything like this before, but one of the girls at work (Jasmine) practically lives online, and she keeps bugging me to get connected, too. I just bought my first computer, so I figured maybe it's about time I make use of it. I've even got an e-mail address! (Now if only somebody would write to me!) My best friend Alison wants me to go on to this "Plenty of Fish" site to find a man, but I keep telling her there aren't any out there. Got home from work about an hour ago. I like the early-morning shift because The Big Phil is always so busy in the morning. I see all the usual, friendly faces, and that keeps me in a good mood. I think I like it when things stay the same for as long as possible. I know that change is inevitable and "a change is as good as a rest" and all of that, but what's wrong with knowing what to expect every day? Then you can plan things out. Organize. Stay of top of everything. Maybe that's why I like reading my horoscope every morning in The Guardian. This morning it said I would have a three-star day. "Finances, as you understand, make the world go around, especially right now. Tonight: Be realistic." My interpretation - I probably should have put that $60.00 on my VISA balance instead of buying those rain boots on line. But they're so cute! And God knows I need them. The laundry room in my apartment building was flooded when "Hanna" passed through on the weekend, and I had to get down there to get my clothes! (Don't worry...the water didn't get anywhere near the dryer!) That's it for today!
